    FACELIFT WIRING

Hi Sierrfery. I do thank you for your advice, it has helped a lot.
I was using a landy UK forum tutorial. It took me some time to work out he was wiring up his brand new face lift lights using trailer light wire. That is where the brown wires came into play, ( he did not have the required lamp plugs.)
I now have nearly everything working as it should.
All I need now is a relay for keeping both dip and main beam on together.
Lastly I need to find out where I can find the power supply for the new fog lamps.
My old bumper did not have fog lamps .
    Regards, Nick.

Even if the bumper didnt have fog lamps IMO the looms should be tied up there in the area so search around there and if you find unused two pin plugs with UP and B wires those are for fog lamps...if no joy you'll have to splice into the output of the fog lamps relay from the fusebox ... you'll have to lift it and find the UP wire in C0574 pin 2 (see Electrical library - connector views), no other point to splice in cos it's hardwired to a header under the dash and from there hardwired to the lamps

Is there a power source in the front of the car that hooks up to the fog lights?
It came with plugs and a short ( 200mm )cut off of wire. Just not sure where they plug into for power.

As above there should be two unused plugs on the front, one on each side. You may find them easier when you remove the old bumper.

    facelift

I would just just like to thank Sierrfery and Chook D2, who have helped this "electrical idiot" out of the woods.
The fog lamps now work, as well as the main headlights.
I just have to wait till tomorrow when my buddy turns up with the relay and fuse.
    Thanks all for your help.
    Regards Nick ( worane).

No Bohica not doing rear lights. I am just hoping to maybe get a bit more candle power down the road out front.
I am not trying to make it a 2003 lookalike.
I have two pencil beam Super Oscar spotties and when I dip them for on coming traffic it is like midnight on a rainy night.

I love the look of the update lights but I just put some Philips +130 (or+150?) globes in without even upgrading the loom and I don't think it's that far behind, if behind at all the Deefer with Cibie Z beams and 100/90 H4's

I'm glad you are sorted worane.

I fitted Osram nightbraker laser +130% bulbs in mine cos even though i like the look and light of the facelift lamps i dont like the ideea of changing a bulb in dark under heavy rain cos compared to what involves a bulb change on a pre-facelift the facelift is a nightmare also H7 bulbs seem to last less... my H4s have around 3 years and still going strong

Can the plastic lenses handle that much heat, Rick?

Do you have any pics of it? And was it an easy job to fit them up. I have the d2a lights and would like to do the same.
