But maybe asking too much of it?

The ZF 4HP22/24 as an auto is supposed to be rated as good for about 400 Nm and the D2 manual box about 500 Nm, if my recollections are correct - 2nd hand and I think attributed to Bruce Davis?

The box also fails too early in BMW X5s. costing owners up to 9k to fix...hence they can be bought very cheap when around or over 200-250000 ks.

I convinced son's mate with one to service it sooon...he's on 230000k and waiting for shudders. He'll wreck the car if it dies as the engine will fetch 5k minimum. Cars only worth 10.

Not sure why they cost so much more to fix tho....premium car tarrif maybe😐

Guy down the road has a paddock full of bimmers. Quite a weird look given their prestige image☺

Suffix L R380 as used in D2 440nm. Ashcroft do an updated version that would be reliable with higher torque. Who is running auto trans in their R380!! Go on....show yourselves!

    Cheers
