skarf about 5kgs out of that flywheel... [wink11]
Sorry Pedro, I don’t know what that means, or how to do it. [emoji848]
But Pedro is into lots of zoom zoom and not a lot of pullin power.
If the engine was going into a Morgan Plus 8 - take the weight off the flywheel, but if it is going into a 2 tonne 4wd that lumbers around at idle in low range - stay with the 5kg [thumbsupbig]
It doesn’t look that big. If I took 5kg off, there be nothing for the starter motor to spin around.
actually its exactly the opposite,,[smilebigeye]
had this exact chat years ago with an race engine builder,,
and his take on that was,, you already have 4 wheels and tyres, gearbox and axles all spinning already,, why add 5kg?
I understand your point ( sort of) with only 5 pulses per rotation in a manual,,
anyway I'm sure biggin is right,, LR probably didnt see the need for any skarfing either. [smilebigeye]
Just came across the most difficult part of the engine replacement. How the heck do you reinstall the rubber grommet underneath the starter motor, after bolting up the torque converter? It just will not sit properly.
The good news is the new 4.6 is in and bolted up. Just the top end left to do.
Sorry mate. Should be room now. Cheers
