He's a good bloke. For anyone interested we are talking about Murray owner of Jag and Rover Spares in Brisbane. He has been doing Land Rover spare parts for.a.few decades by my count. Cheers

Mmmm...not to labour the point..but my instincts tell me a wide front plus narrow rear makes it even worse cause it transfers weight disproportionally to the rear..bit like a morgan three wheeler if you take the front/rear wide vs narrow geometry to the extreme😎
I'll stop yota bashing now☺
Hey this thread is about issues with a Rover V8 engine - it has nothing to do with the rear track of a Landcruiser.

As mentioned earlier, it looks like I’ll be installing a 4.6L long motor.
I’m pretty sure I won’t have too many problems getting the short motor out, however not too sure how easily the long motor will go in.
Is this doable with the radiator in place? I really hope so as I don’t feel like taking it out...again.
Any ideas on how to rig an engine leveller to a long motor? No headbolts to tie to.
From memory there are steel lift eyes x 2 on these motors. At a guess bonnet off should be doable. Ask Murray mate. Cheers
does it come with the bigger inlet tubing/maf?
My 4.6 was from a pre Thor p38A. Not sure what year Biggin has scored. Cheers
cant be many pre Thor 4.6's lying around :o
