Yeah, never thought of that side of things.
I'll see if I can find which plug the Fuel temp and speedo lines use at the ECU end .. maybe the spikes(if caused by slightly faulty connections) are related .. and hence the ECU plug.

But I guess it doesn't hurt to give them(both) some sprays too.
EDIT: actually just thinking, you also posted that your Auto kind'a playing up a little too.
If more knowledgeable folks know where the SLABS/Auto ECU/Engine ECU connectors all meet up(so to speak) .. like you say John .. maybe your issues, here and the auto thread, are related, possibly to dodgy wiring harness or something.
