They start off SAL(mostly) then the LJ, or LT
You having a D2, your VIN will be SALLT ... etc, etc.

Brilliant, thanks. I've e-mailed Andrew at Alpine UK Support to see if he can provide the Discovery 2 L318 LT information. See what comes back...

So Andrew from Alpine UK Support advises that they have no information on the Discovery 2 VSS. Therefore I think it's safe to conclude that the Discovery 2 probably can't be connected up to the VSS. At present I don't have it connected and have nil noticeable issues or missing functions.
