It's set up to drain the waste oil back into the sump through an additional fitting on the turbos oil return line. There's a one way valve in line to stop then turbo's oil output from being able to flow into the Provent.
I've removed the cap on the Provent and it's empty inside so I assume no blockages.

check the turbine side of turbo to see if that carbon is dry, the vgt's can leak oil into the lower pressure side ( turbine )first,
Took the EGR blanking plate off this afternoon. The back of it at the EGT probe are sooty and dry. Ran my finger in and sooty and dry.

But I suppose that's only one out of the five cylinders that it's indicating - might be the only good one?
Pulled out the inspection camera/endoscope to stick in by the old Samsung Galaxy Android device handset that I keep in the garage for the Torque app and the camera seems to have a faulty battery - it shuts down 30 seconds or so after I turn it on - will only keep running if plugged into the charger. The camera isn't compatible with my iPhone nor can it be used while the handsets plugged into the charger as its the same USB port for both. I've just ordered a replacement battery as the old one was bulging and not charging past 65%.

I need to drop off the dump pipe from the turbo charger next to see what that looks like inside.
