    Head not sealed?

So I’m halfway through a head gasket change on a v8. I pulled the heads off due to the coolant system pressurising. No real signs of a slipped liner as there was no ‘washing’ effect. Having put both the heads on with new gaskets I pulled the water pump off as that also needed changing. I blew some air from a compressor through the coolant ports on the block where the waterpump would sit and air came out of the front and rear most intake ports on the heads. I’ve literally just got the heads back on so no other coolant pipes or manifolds are fitted.

Do I have a bad seal? Slipped liner? Or missing something silly?

Did the heads get crack or pressure tested?

Er, the front and rear most ports on the heads are water jackets to the manifold.

Only one is used on each side as the heads are not handed but identical.
