I can't see why not. That said some things to check:

• check that the phone cradle extends out far enough so that the phone doesn't foul the lip of the dash above the stereo.
• the unit doesn't appear to have steering wheel control functionality so if you have them fitted to your disco then you won't be able to use them if you fit this unit.
• you'll also need to check the car's audio wiring to see what plugs it has. The update D2a has ISO plugs so you just need to buy a pioneer-ISO wiring adaptor and you're good to go. I seem to recall earlier D2's used another plug type so worth checking.

Anyone know what these plugs are (RED CIRCLE) ? The bottom plugs are ISO plug I think.

I have an MHV something or other Pioneer head and I just used an ISO connector in the '02 to hook it up.
Most of the those factory plugs aren't used.
It works fine, the phone and Spotify work well.

I recently fitted a pioneer head unit to my 2000 D2, and purchased the pioneer to ISO loom. The guy at Autobarn where I purchased the headunit from was extremely helpful.

Hi Matt

Yes the lower 2 plugs are ISO ones.

The 3 at the top according to the link below are for the high end audio system and are used for the CD changer, headphones and possibly an external amp.

It's a single DIN unit so yes, it will fit.

In addition to what is already mentioned above, the other issue you may find is that unlike the picture on the manufacturers website where the headunit is angle mounted, the D2 dash mounts it with the face vertically and lowish - this results in reduced visibility for screens that can't be angled back.

Also, depending on which spec audio system your D2 has depends on if the universal ISO adapters will work. If you've got a factor amplified then it's more complicated as they're a low level input which usually is RCA connectors but the factory loom uses normal wires - if you put a high level input into it you may cause damage. There's other threads with information on this already if this is applicable in your case.

Thanks for the info. Mine has factory amplifier. Anyone has any experience how to do it if there is factory amplifier?
