    Noise on depressing clutch

I started the car a few days a go, after a bit of a lay off. When I pushed the clutch in I had a grating, rubbing sound. It stopped after a couple of presses and has only come back once since last Wednesday. I am thinking the thrust bearing, yet the clutch etc was changed only 65,000kms ago. What could be the problem?
Is it time to upgrade the TC, gear box etc

    TIA

my td5 defender has the same noise for a year before i sold it, only when cold it made a screeching noise then when it warmed up it went away. Didn't affect anything and I sold it like that and I'd bet anything that it's still going strong now.
