You've helped to reassure me that what I have noticed is not fatal, nor necessarily a portent of doom (even if it's not ideal).
I topped up the ATF since I last posted, in case a lot of fluid had been lost to leakage in the 2 years since last done.
Poured 400 ml in, but also lost at about 200 ml due to loosening the drain plug before having the engine running and cycling through the gears! Should have known better.
So, it had probably only lost about 200 ml over 2 years, and I doubt that this amount would be the cause of the issue.
If anyone knows better, PLEASE speak up as I'd appreciate the advice.

Hi Andrew if it’s been 2 years it is most likely time for a fluid and filter change. Filter kits are cheap from Karcraft. I do mine every oil change
