    My first Disco 2

Picked this up today, she's a non-runner but I'm hoping to change that soon.

2000 TD5 Auto, bodywork and interior on the whole is pretty good and it was cheap enough to take a punt!

Any Novocastrians in the forum with a Nanocom.....

Come down to Newcastle often? I suspect that it might be the crank angle sensor or starter relay but wouldn't mind checking the codes before I start replacing random parts. Engine cranks but won't fire, fuel pump is running (much louder than the one in my Puma Defender), no warning lights, only lights before I crank it are the battery and oil pressure.

New battery, immobiliser unlocks with key fob (once I pulled the case off it and bridged the contacts), crank angle senor plug physically checked (hadn't come loose), a little oil in the red ECU plug but nothing major.

I'm thinking of moving up to a 4 so our old girl has to go. My health has taken the fun out of home mechanics and I'm for the first time financially able to consider paying a workshop. 334K 2002 TD5. Runs like a dream. Not "pretty" inside or out but 2018/9 new tyres, battery, radiator, coolant pump, front and rear bumpers (front one is steel and winch ready). Curious what you paid for yours. Anyone have guidance what I could expect for ours?
    Thanks,
    Pete

Yeah, I'd guess at about 3-ish K too. But it really depends on how untidy the inside actually is.
Good interiors aren't easy to find, and almost always the drivers seat is knackered badly.
    Arthur.

All these discos are giving me a heart attack!

Interior shows good use! Driver's seat is not knackered. Heated seats. I think I'll put it out there.
    Thanks for the guidance.

    Hi Pete,

I only paid $500 for this with 306k on the clock. A lot of unknowns though in my case, might not even get it running again, at least yours is running!

Thanks Lemo for dropping by on the weekend!

    Hi Marc,
Wow, certainly worth a punt at $500. Good luck with your project. Looks like it's a while she was a runner but the duco looks prettier than our weathered beast. Want a steel front bumper? ( very good price for you, Sir) How's the back bumper? Looking forward to following your story.
    Pete
