    LT 230 Counterweight

Does anyone know if counterweights are fitted to all Transfer boxes. My V8 didnt have one? My TD5 Defender does? Should they be on all?

No, not on all. Just on some models to assist with dampening vibrations. The V8’s don’t need them, think it was mostly the TD5’s that had them.

D2 TD5's have them on the t/case, updates even have one on the watts linkage.

They are mass dampers to reduce NVH.

It is on the 5 cyl td5 to damp the inherent 5 cyl vibrations. At around 2200 rpm
