D2 trouble braking on second push

My mechanic (non rover) recently replaced the brake fluid in my D2 during a service. Since then the brakes work fine on the first push. If however you let go and immediately push down again the pedal is hard and you have to step on it to have any effect. If you wait two or three seconds though it is normal again.Could bleeding it the wrong way have caused it?

D2 trouble braking on second push

Have to also consider on an immediate reapplication the pistons are still up against the discs and so little fluid is moved to reapply and so you get an almost instant lock up.

Have you tried this when driving - you will probably find the second immediate reapplication brings in the ABS as you are probably already near full braking pressure.

Of course if it does not feel safe - you need to take it back and get checked out.

Maybe your mechanic used the wrong brake fluid?, As this was the only thing changed it is worth looking into.

Booster or the vac system to it for my two bobs. I'd get it checked out before it degrades... Something may have been bumped/articulated/disturbed during the fluid change process.

    Thank you for the feedback.

I did a full bleed again using a different colour fluid to make sire the whole system is flushed. Did it by the book... Master cylinder, left front, right front, left rear, right rear. Activated HDC and did three runs on level ground.... accelerate to 20kmph decelerate to 7kmph using HDC.. Repeated a full bleed again excluding master. Brakes are spot on now.
Guess I'll look after my own brakes from now on 😁👍
