There are some products on the market that you can spray on, but of course you still need good access to the Evaporator coil/Heat Exchanger.
You don't mention your vehicle model so don't know how accessible that coil will be.
Hi
I am having problems with no air coming out of the vents whilst air con fan is going flat out/on, even though you can feel cold air.
All blend and distribution doors work.
I have found out now from a mates that had the same issue, that once your evaporative cooler (behind the heater box under dash towards firewall), is bloked from dirt, broken down foam etc, it stop the air flow torwards vents.
Apart from taking out the heater box out and nearly dying of frustration, is there a way of cleaning the cooler in situe?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's not just a blocked drain that's created an iced up coil?
Rick, you really have to leave those monsters you work on, behind.
Do folk really run their ACs flat chat so that the coil ices over? 2 x Clunks.
I guess if the coil was partially restricted it would happen. under those conditions.
Ah, just googled location.

Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
I never look for that Ian, if it is on the General Page it may get replied to, but most people identify the vehicle in the post or even in their username anyway.
Of course the drain could be choked with crap in the lower drain pipe with the pinch valves (AKA Rubber tits) stuck. D1s exited through each side of the Trans Tunnel so not easy to access. I assume D2 are the same so the pipes could be storing water until the rubber tit is cleaned.
Then again........ it could be the fins blocked with crap. Not all cars have a removable Fan inlet filter but while Mazda CX-3 do, D2s may not.
D2 drains as per D1. I had water dripping behind the left, rear wheel. Try as I might, I couldn't locate the source and it was of considerable concern. Then, eventually, the penny dropped. Rear air con.![]()
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
Yes, well I am sick of the sight of iced up evaporators.....
Had two on Friday afternoon that took 4 hours to defrost with cold water.
Your can't use hot water on a CO2 system on the off chance the solenoid opens half through defrosting.
The worst part was I walked in to look at a couple of BOH AC systems but one of the freezer rooms was in alarm![]()
D2 has two drains from memory, one each side of the transmission tunnel, and one of them is engineered to drip directly onto the front driveshaft double u jays.Well done LR.
And FWIW,blocked evaps are a common problem with 70 series,as there is no filter,oh what a feeling
Yes i went to an iced up evap at the local golf club keg room, yesterday,it would be helpful if both fan motors were running...
A big old school MUA,must be older than me
Hooked up to a just as old Bitzer 4 belt drive.
