Never checked the fuel pressure myself, so someone else can chime in, could you do another log? Just for interest sake...

    Thanks for that,

Unfortunately the MAP/IAT is still reporting significantly different readings to the MAF.

They are both similar at idle and lower readings.

Why? I don't know....the way the MAF is reading would suggest a healthy engine that is performing well.

Maybe the MAF is faulty and that's what made me think the MAP sensor was under reporting, this wouldn't explain the lack of performance though.

Other possible causes could be some settings incorrectly adjusted / hacked in the engine tune, faulty wiring or a massive boost leak- this is probably the most likely.

Other than that I'm out of ideas...but those are the next things I would check.

Have you checked that the intercooler hoses have not internally collapsed?
This is a relatively common problem.

Whilst that is a common problem, unless there is a leak as well, that wouldn't cause different readings between the MAF and MAP sensors, assuming they are both telling the truth that is...

Thanks, yes the thing that is confusing about this is that the main problem of not being able to rev the engine easily beyond 2500rpm has been there since I bought it 12 years ago. Initially Graeme Coopers said it wasn't enough fuel and that a TRS ECU should solve the problem - it improved performance a bit but still not able to rev beyond 2500rpm without really pushing it (and even then will top out at 3000rpm). Since I bought it I've done EGR delete, silicon hoses, new intercooler, new injector loom, new wastegate modulator, gone through several MAFs, straight-through exhaust...all of which have only resulted in slight improvements. Might be time to get a diesel mechanic to have a look at it again. I've persisted with it until now because it tours fine but just not much extra performance when you need it. But the lack of result from the Storm ECU has been the last straw and I want to find out what is stopping the ECU from delivering in the way that it should...

not sure why the reluctance to just get the fuel pressure checked, but if you do , you want 6-7 bar upstream from the FPR and 4-4.5 bar downstream , if that checks out ok.
Remove the rocker cover and check cam timing and injector bump clearance .
Strange that a Landy workshop would advise to remap if it wouldn't rev out beforehand .

I thought that too. That was some of the most ridiculous advise that I've ever seen, but it makes for a good sale.

I wonder if someone has set the injector clearances on the foot of the cam rather than the peak.
Camshaft timing? although on a diesel probably not possible to be one out.

    Yep that's pretty unprofessional.

Something of significance is obviously wrong here, I must say I'm mystified as to the erratic MAF v MAP readings , I had thought of cam timing and injectors....actually, hold on....Could it have EU3 injectors fitted? I *think* they have a longer stroke -- this would definitely be worth looking into.

It would be great to get the MAF and MAP agreeing with each other as well as something is clearly wrong there as well.

    Cheers
    James
