    Replacing the DVD player..

Just bought a D2a which has a Dvd player installed under the passenger seat (and screen in the roof for the back seats).

Anyway, it wont load disks despite being powered on so I suspect something is wrong with the player..
I dont have a lot of DVDs anyway so was thinking of replacing it with a low-end media box...

Just wondering if anyone has done that and can give me a heads up on the wiring loom to the dvd....

Wouldn't it be simpler and cheaper just to slide a new head unit including DVD player into the dash and ignore the failed DVD player under the seat? That's what we did with the CD player in our D1.

The DVD Player is under the seat... It has nothing (AFAIK) to do with the head unit...
I still want to use the DVD screen in the roof as well...

I can just imagine it being quite expensive to repair or replace the DVD player, but if you find a cheap, quick fix, that's great.
A dash unit can still be connected to a roof screen.

Another option is to replace the DVD player with a cheap unit, 12V or 240V powered through an inverter. Far cheaper than trying to connect an expensive new head to an existing, non-related, fixed screen.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
