Yeah. And in this context I assumed would be taken that way.

Recently had ECU remapped on TD5 and happy with outcome, BUT I don't have a snorkel and was looking to get on.
Will fitting a snorkel make any difference to how the re-mapped ECU works?
Like will I have to go back to the tech who re-mapped it and get "adjustments", to accommodate the snorkel being added?
Nothing that impacts the mapping loaded
*On a turbo diesel you are unlikely to notice much if any difference.
*Also if you decide to face the top of the snorkel forward or backwards, again you are unlikely to notice any difference.
In theory...
*As an engine wants (dense) passive air, having a snorkel will degrade performance.
*This is negated with a turbo diesel engine.
BAS will not warrant their hottest remaps if the car is fitted with a snorkel, but if you have a mild remap I don't think it will matter.

Lets face it, what are tuners warranting anyway??
*its not any engine failure.
*Its not improved economy (regardless if that happens or not)
*And its certainly NOT any listed XX power or NM increase.
**** me, even I dont know what my warranty covers when I tune a vehicle. That if a customer is not completely satisfied I will put it back to stock I guess.
I do show customers other dyno results on vehicles and say this is what we can reasonably expect from your vehicle.
I would assume BAS figures are based on dyno results for that model that they have done and guess their stated figures are also "what can be reasonably expected".
Here is what BAS say on their website.

We insist on a non restrictive air intake or induction system and an uprated performance intercooler to help maintain a cooler charge and air intake tempratures when cars are worked hard or for long peroids, worked at high rpm or speeds as well as used in hot countrys or conditions. High exhaust gas tempratures and air intake tempratures can reduce the life of the engine and related components if low tempratures are not maintained.
Hells Bells! Hasn't my original thread evolved since I last had time to visit! Been running up lots of ks recently for medical and work reasons. Many of them in the 300Tdi until the new Td5 filters arrived.
The discussion re. snorkels is fascinating but totally irrelevant to my original post - I don't have one.
I can now report that the wiring and tubing to and from the boost modulator are all intact and in good condition. I've cleaned the air box, MAF and turbo inlet duct, the airbox inlet duct appears to be intact, as does the duckbill. I've fitted ("correctly") a new Mahle element, with Vaseline on the edges. And done another 180km trip. And the vehicle behaved excellently! So, it would seem the stuffed filter was the cause of the odd performance issues. Thanks to all who made constructive suggestions.
