Converting to the later fuel cooler

    Hi fellas,
I have a MY00 TD5 Discovery 2 and had taken the fuel cooler off and had found the thermostat inside has snapped off the spring
Thinking of just putting a later cooler in. Wondering what needs to be done to convert to the later one?

    cheers

Ok, so you want to go from the long barrel/tube style cooler, to the square type as used in the late production td5s?

And I seriously don't know what the thermostat and spring are!

The tube type cooler has a thermostat in it, useless IMO, i converted my 10P to the square type cos the thermostat in mine was fubar too and blocked the flow

Thanks for that,I seriously did not know that!

I do know a guy that removed the cooler/heater altogether though, and claimed it isn't necessary...I'll let the readers decide what they think of that.
