Hi twr7cx,
Sierraferry's comment has jogged a memory.
My bleed was with 2 people and can remember that while the nanocom did its ABS bleed the pedal was pressed while the other person opened the nipple to let air/fluid out. The pedal assists with pumping out fluid and air.
Since you have 2 lines in trouble you may have to do each a few times alternating to achieve the result.

I reconnected the brake lines to the master cylinder post testing it with the block off plugs. Rebled the system per post #17 procedure < #17 Two Brake callipers not bleeding the entire brake pedal stroke - faulty ABS units? >. This time I also carried out the full Wet Modulator Assembly procedure too - previously I didn't as the notes said only necessary when the lines have been run dry.
End result is no more sinking brake pedal. The brake pedal is soft - the initial travel has little braking effect, then they start to bite. Once they're working they can bite hard again when pushed harder.
I took the vehicle up the back of our bush block and ran the Hill Descent Control for a few km of downhill rolling, did some hard brakes on gravel tracks to activate the ABS and a couple of quick uphill runs on slippery surface to activate the Traction Control. All systems worked well. By the end of all this the brake pedal felt fine - not sure if there was an actual improvement or if I just became used to it...
I'll drive it for a week or so like this and then rebleed the system to see if any further improvement can be gained.
Mort2, sorry I was a bit blunt in my replies previously. Sorry to hear about your bad day and I hope things have improved. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and comments re the situation.
