Wow wish i could get mine that low
My wife's HSE Auto 2004 TD5 never get lower than 14l/100kms. However we always close windows and run full time aircon 18-20 oC in that one.
I get 10.1 to 10.5 unless towing
If , on the odd occasion the low fuel light comes on , the odo is around 870-880 but I brim the tank on each fill .
265/70/16 wildpeaks , steel bars , not light foot. 80% rural inc maybe 2% in low range , rest city
I did force myself to drive normally for 1 tank ( just following and accelerating like everyone else ) and returned 9.8 but It was so dreary I won't do it again
AC in a TD5 doesn't make a dent on fuel burn. Tested many a time and never made a difference.
What will make a dent is the HVAC needing regassing from not being used often [bigsmile] My 20yo D2 is still on the original compressor and refrigerant charge. [thumbsupbig]
And it gets around 13-14l/100km and I don't give a **** about measuring it [bigwhistle]
If you need to track fuel - it should be for tax purposes.

For me there’s not that “need” now but old habits die hard [emoji846]
Isn't everyone ECU "not quite standard" these days?, but yep a few other bits not quite standard.
While I no longer feel the need for 1hp per kilo type power , I still enjoy lively stuff .
When I track fuel it's usually to see if a mod has made any difference to efficiency ( so far so good )
It's not hard to do and if I notice a fair difference from one tank to the next after similar habits then it tells me something mightn't be right.
No different to checking oil , coolant etc, or even to see if AC makes a dent[biggrin]
The killers to fuel consumption is big off-road tyres, a roof rack, a lift kit, and lots of accessories adding dead weight.
Each adds on average 1 l/100km.
My Td5 D2 had none of the above, and averaged under 10 l/100km over its 480,000km life.
