Yes that's how the old camera was installed by the previous owner - linked to a monitor inside a rear view mirror. Very bad screen AND reflection!

My new head unit enables you to turn on the reverse camera from the home screen. For now I have moved the vampire clamps from the reverse light to the tail light - quick & easy fix, and the camera is powered whenever I turn the lights on. I'd like to find an accessory wire at the rear so the camera stays on whenever the key is turned, but this is doing the trick for now!
