Yep, I opted for a high flow cat with the 3" pipe I run.
Less potential hassle at rego time.

Remove the solenoid(s) as well, and the pipe that goes from the air box and block the hole at the air box.

I kept mine and I'm going to be using them to drive a vacuum actuator for the CDL.

Block it off. Many different ways to do it but I think the easiest is follow it back up until you get to the white plastic t-piece, remove that and replace with a straight joiner.

EGR cooler? Some use them as a heat exchanger for on board hot water, if that's your thing...

You can buy Champion 4mm vacuum tube plugs from any auto parts store. Easier than pulling apart and replacing with straight joiner.
Have you thought about a provent and cleaning your intercooler? After cleaning your intake manifold you'll not want anything else to dirty it up again.

Mine has done almost 100k kms with the EGR removed and the cat pipe removed. Never had an issue with any of those components.

I have even passed an MOT License inspection (with both removed) mechanic was none the wiser.

Using the EGR cooler to make onboard hot water is possibly one of the best things I've read here haha, great idea. I have left the coolant passing through the ERG cooler for now but would blank it off if I get any issues.

Trust me. wear a raincoat and goggles if using a pressure washer.
This is the best way to transfer black carbon from inside the manifold to the outside of you.

heyya, since I am doing the egr blanking at same time thought I would ask here. I have removed the exhaust manifold due to it being warped, I need to move the ac out of the way to remove 2 broken studs. I can't find how to do this. Can someone please let me know how to move the ac out of the way?? Thanks!

Take tension öff the belt at the tensioner (long ring spanner) and remove.

Undo the four long bolts that hold the AC comp down to the aluminium housing below, lift the comp so the hollow dowels are clear of the housing and move enough to get the manifold off.

hey all, what do I do with the tube that comes off the cooler (egr part directly behind the fan) and goes to the coolant reservoir?? I haven't heard anyone discuss this.
