    What Boost can be run?

    Hello, just wondering what people are running boast wise as I have the TD5 Alive turbo and boast box fitted bruce davies chip, have just taken it up to 25PSI seems to have made a big difference but then could be the cold weather too.

    My boast is I'm in Broome on a road trip .
    Stevo , unless you're running a more efficient turbo and bigger intercooler I wouldn't go above that as it might be ok while the weather is cool but will be wasted energy otherwise.
    I have both the above on mine as well as quite heavy mapping and water meth injection and is happy at 28 psig boost.

    Wasn't 25psi getting to the point where that turbo was getting off the map?

    Searching some old threads atm

    Think that what the boost box is for, was thinking 25 Psi have heard of 30 plus.

    Naa, boost box just fools the ECU so it doesn't go into limp mode, but if you go off the map the compressor is really inefficient and just starts to create heat instead of increasing air flow. It basically beats the air up.

    27 psi is pushing the limits of the stock td5 turbo,

    that said, if you dump enough fuel at it you can get 35ish psi out of it.

    By "off the map" do you mean beyond the original land Rover tuning? Or beyond the flow map for the standard turbo?

    Either way both are correct, but one is easier to fix than the other..!
