Hey guys,

First post but been stalking the threads for a while. I've had my D2a for a few years now and while I'm not disappointed with the power of my V8 my background and business is all about fabrication, tuning and performance and have always tossed up the idea of an LS, Duramax or even Barra turbo conversion in the rover. Saying that I really think the rover V8 can crank out some good power if given the right treatment and I like the idea of a standard motor for now as I want everything to work as it should. I cant stand a vehicle with warning lights, things that dont work and hacked up holes here there and everywhere. It has ACE, rear air, CDL and full leather, arm rests, electric seats etc and dont want to detract from what is a comfortable and awesome off road vehicle.
I'm picking up an 2nd hand haltec unit from a guy tomorrow and will be piggy backing the unit onto the D2a, will give it an initial tune and will test for a few weeks then do some data logging to see how its all holding up with a 98 tune. Honestly I expect some good improvement on this alone. After this I have a couple different size turbos (i might test both sizes) hanging around an intercooler and an external gate that ill fit and see how the rover responds. This is all going to be just a little bit of fun and ill probably start a build thread soon once I have he ECU wired in.
I had searched and saw a few threads on systems like the tornado that basically gives a soldered in generic parameter change and i know the ecu isn't programable but no one I could see has ever piggy backed an ECU? I was surprised but would love to see anyone who had done something similar in the past.
Cheers
Adrian
