If you remove everything, no codes are thrown on an EU3.
I removed the solenoids etc and just blanked off the vacuum pipe.
I suspect that fitting a catch can without EGR removal would be OK, as long as you pulled off the inlet manifold and cleaned it and the EGR valve thoroughly, as with say over 100KK on the car the valve will have a lot of build up.
I however don't know for sure whether the EGR valve is a restriction to inlet flow. I think it probably is seeing the Brits seem to insist that it is deleted when fitting tunes.
The catch can will reduce or eliminate oil mixing with the exhaust gas so by itself will benefit the engine in the long term by keeping the inlet clean.
