Thread: Fifth Year of Ownership.

As well as the usual fluids and filter changes, Daisy got a new camshaft cover gasket (rocker cover). A new injector loom and a new front cam bore seal. The old injector loom was sealed and is sitting in the shed. There was no performance issues and no oil in the red plug. From what I’ve learned here, it seemed to be a smart thing to do when the camshaft cover is off.

I had an additional change of the air filter after going through the Jamieson River. The tube going into the air box had a sikaflex failure on the inner wing. The water was about 850mm deep, and part of the bow wave pushed over the air vent and we had a few drops of water in the car.
The joints were cleaned up and re-sealed. I have to d the one that enters the airbox.

I bought a full-length roof rack to carry the camping gear on the trip to the Southern Flinders Ranges over the Easter break. The trip did not take place.
I also installed a cargo barrier to stop stuff flying forwards when going on a trip to the Southern Flinders Ranges over the Easter break. The trip did not take place.

The engine got a tweak with a “stage 1” remap that produces about 20 to 30% more grunt. The turbo rod was also shortened, and the boost is now 22 psi.
The car pulls well, it is a changed vehicle. Much nicer to drive.

The roof rack had a mounting bracket to mount the widow maker and a long-handled shovel for the trip to the Southern Flinders Ranges over the Easter break. The trip did not take place.

A mate of mine made a set of drawers out of plywood to hold cooking gear, food and tools for the trip to the Southern Flinders Ranges over the Easter break. The trip did not take place.

I also bought a 60L Kings fridge/freezer. It works well and had a good run at home as a spare freezer as we could not go to the Southern Flinders Ranges over the Easter break. The 60L is a bit misleading as that is the volume of the entire unit, not the internal volume.

I also bought a fridge slide to go in the draw unit.

The cargo barrier, drawers, fridge slide, fridge were removed to fit the cable from the reversing camera. They are still to go back in.
I have installed a reversing camera. In retrospect, I think a wireless one would be easier to fit.

As for the trip to the Southern Flinders Ranges, back in April, I thought we’d be good to go in September. Now I am hoping for next April.

I have just remembered that I changed the brake hoses for new Teflon lined stainless steel braided ones, suitable for a 2 inch lift. or full axle drop. and of course the break fluid was flushed, twice.
