It has been awhile since I have posted in this thread. I was waiting to receive the turbo back from turbo technics before I would post anything. The first thing I will say is dealing with AlliSport has been nothing but a pleasure. I had to make a warranty claim and that is why I hadn't posted anything up yet. They were extremely helpful and I would have no problems at all buying anything from them again.
I explained to them what was going on as it was blowing blue smoke on boost. To make a long story short they completely rebuilt the turbo free of charge but found no problem at all. So I'm back at square one.Just for people who don't know i had an oil pump bolt failure which I think I caught in time. Although my hybrid turbo was destroyed in the process. I'm not exactly sure but after getting the motor going again after the oil pump failure there was oil coming out the exhaust. So now I think the exhaust is full of oil and that's where the blue smoke was coming from when it gets hot.
And after putting the new turbo on the oil in the exhaust maybe burning off. I just don't know at the moment. I'm currently running the standard turbo and will install the vgt when it stops raining. So if it's not the turbo what else would be causing it to blow blue smoke only on boost. It doesn't blow any blue smoke at idle or light throttle. I hope it's not the motor.![]()
First things first, see if it does it with the stock turbo back on, it is possible if you destroyed the hybrid that oil could be where it shouldn't.
Check blowby, check motor oil level, and see what you get.
Cheers
James
