Yes, you could. How old is the original pump? May as well change it and call it preventative maintenance.
If you are really budget conscious, you could just replace just the pump.

Plan is to use the current pump, I'm not doing anything that justifies that kind of preventative spending yet. Was an earlier than planned purchase as a mate discovered the hard way it doesn't fit in a d1.
Possibly a Brown Davis tank. When I contacted them for instructions on my P38A tank, they were most obliging.
