    you mentioned at the start that it was down one side,I would have a close look at the airbag on extended height for leaks,spray with soapy water.

    I fitted a secondhand compressor before going away for the weekend, it performed faultlessly. My intention was to order a recon kit from Bagpipingandy and fit that, keeping the s/h one as a spare.
    I've always been amazed at people who claimed that the SLS provided an comfortable ride, to the degree that I've stated my D1 was a superior ride. The ride has been transformed with a different compressor. The car now sits level. Previously I thought the front springs had sagged, but now I believe that the valving was the issue. The original compressor is probably not worth reconditioning.

    Don't throw it, I have got several in parts (somewhere ?). May be able to make a backup one out of all the bits.

    have a look at my gallery at about page 5 to see how i converted an old compressor to use an external aftermarket compressor using all the original valves.works a treat.
