I spoke to All4x4 at Kotara about a rego transfer case for my 2000 D2 TD5 auto and they asked whether it had 2 electrical connectors or 3. I have tried to look at my rave on my pc and for some reason it won't load to see if that sheds any light. I want to try and work out what I need before Wednesday as I can get it picked up as a back load by a mate and work on it over the long weekend.
Any one have an informed idea which one I need

That was my thought but the fellow I spoke to was being difficult about it
I would have thought a bog standard 2000 model would only have two "electrical connectors" fitted to the T/C case.
1. the high/low switch, on the nose cone
2. the high temp warning switch, fitted to the (pass) side main casing near the rear.
So Tins ... if you have the high/low AND the diff lock switches fitted to your TC box, then by the way the All4x4 have asked the OP the question, technically your TC would have 3 electrical switches fitted to it.
They all have the high low and oil temp switches fitted. Not all have the diff lock switch tho.
To confuse matter a bit more:
if All4x4 are not LR experienced, may not know that there are many different variations on the LT230, primarily on the front nose casing.
This is where you can get the two or three switch variants too .. and more, my brothers '02 has no diff lock bits at all, and no diff lock light switch .. so it's front section is a single switch type(high/low) only.
Are they are asking about these "numbers of switches" specifically on the nose cone section or the entire transfer case?
or was the question asked specifically about the high/low and diff lock switches.
I think the D2a models('03 and later) have the 3 electrical connector type front case types(2x diff lock switches).
So in reality those types would be 4 electrical switch type transfer cases!

The third one, is I think a neutral indicator switch, USA and Japan only.

Dark out. But mine has these. The one with bare terminals is clearly the CDL, and the other, according to RAVE is the Hi/Lo switch. But in the first pic there IS a third switch which I couldn't see but the flash picked up....

When I first rang them about 2 weeks ago I think that the fellow I spoke to knew more about it but the fellow today didn't seem to know as much
While there are differences, in the end it's an LT30 ( Ratios aside ). Bloke you spoke to today was possibly reading off a cheat sheet. Usually there are one or two people who know what's what, and a bunch of people learning. Ring again, and ask pointed questions. That usually gets you in touch with the bloke who knows.

An update on this thread, got the new tranfer case, 2 switches one for diff lock the other for low range detect. The later model had a second diff lock switch. No other switches except in some markets such as Japan which has a neutral light as well. Finished installing the new one this evening, nice to have the Disco back on the road. Learnt a bit more how it all goes together now, found a few extra costs on the way. LH transmission mount, handbrake cable, both switches, found that last time the CDL kit had been reconnected it was badly adjusted.
Still a lot cheaper than getting someone else to do it and I always feel that it helps to understand it better incase you have trouble in the bush
