 I do not do map's that smoke, I stick pretty tightly to  sensible AFR.
A number of tunes I have seen are honestly running 13-15/1 at the worst points, which is a no no on a diesel, and with a bit of effort can be avoided, even without replacing the turbo and intercooler(within reason of course)
The MAF can be deleted on an EU3 but it's not really that great an idea, you lose the different hi/low tuning that they have, amongst other things....
