    Roof rail mounted light bar?

Just saw this and though it would be a great idea for the useless factory roof rails i have. Has anyone mounted a light bar across the roof from rail to rail?
    Cheers

If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

Yeah! real noisey, notice the owner of the car in the pic hasn’t worked out how best to route the cabling - atm it’s through an open window Roof rail mounted light bar?

Mine is mounted further back and a bit higher on the half length cargo basket roof rack thingy

The cable goes down along the rack leg, sits in the gutter to the front corner then is tucked under the windscreen placky down the a pillar and exits out the bottom into the engine bay .

Its about 60cm wide at a guess and makes more than enough light forwards and side spread is fantastic.

It came with the car and first time I turned it on it turned me on.

they can be noisey in some areas where you have overzealous Highway Patrol officers. What's that noise, where is it coming from? why is the Police car following me with his siren going?

There are also rules about the height of lights from the road, to avoid dazzling on-coming drivers, so it might be illegal to turn on that light bar while on a public road. Better to mount it at about the same height as the headlights.
