Rear step? Easy to add? Pros and Cons

I am thinking of putting a rear step. to make it easier to get up on to the roof rack. Do all cars have the mounting holes? Easy enough to fit? Pros and COns?

    TIA

Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.

Here is some pics. No detailed instructions just like Ikea assembly guides.

    May help.

some drilling may be needed but is simple enough.

Direct bolt in on my wee beastie. Wasn't affected by the steel rear bar.
