They have K9 series clamps
Has anyone here ever seen anything available to clamp directly to the d2 factory roof bars? I want to get my awning up there before my next trip away.
I was thinking just a simple bracket and U bolts, but from memory (I'm currently away at work so can't check for myself) the bars have a very odd shape. I don't know if a U bolt would even clamp around them effectively.
Has anyone had any experience here clamping anything to the factory rails?
Cheers everyone

I used a couple of Rhino rack ends with the first anchored to the rail with a bit of 20MM steel strip and two stainless bolts and the rear one anchored to the roof by a square of bread board with a connection of steel strap.
has been there for about 7 years no problems.

Well you asked and I will supply.

The breadboard has 2 bolts countersunk from below and is sikaflexed on the roof. Each Rhino rack mount has 2? holes as stock to allow the steel strap to be bolted to it.
The front is self explanatory.
I have placed a large washer at the back of the Rhino rack mount to strengthen the position and fit the sail track with a stainless bolt through it.
The aim is to get enough elevation so that I can walk under the awning and/or to enable enough slope for water to run off.
It has been there 7 years and has been whacked by quite a few trees with no ill effects.
Regards PhilipA
