Here's a pic from a quick google search
[QUOTE=reefmagnet;3099319]Actually, I've just about settled on this exact model. Just this afternoon I found an old Samsung 7" tablet with almost the exact same dimensions as that unit and it fits about as perfect as can be into the radio facia area. Does it really need to be tilted for basic operation? I will have a Samsung tablet mounted directly above it on a RAM mount for the more complex stuff like maps and Google Earthing etc. I also really like the idea of a volume control too, although it looks like it might be a bit tiny?
No, it doesn't have to be tilted to fit in the dash or for basic operation. The unit as standard fit sits deep in the dash and the screen is vertical obviously.Maybe can post a
photo tomorrow.
The volume/mute/on-off knob is a good size,as in being able to reach for it while looking ahead.
Got the unit. Unfortunately the screen was cracked on receipt, but a new one is on the way. Lot's of bells and whistles and the UI is nice and responsive. Fit's pretty darn good to. Still need to hook up all the bells and whistles, but pretty happy so far.
Don't really know the model number as it doesn't have one on the box at least. The head unit seems to be a standard one that interchanges with different displays.
Came with everything (GPS puck, 4g antenna, usb extensions) and plugged straight into the ISO connector. Has outputs for amps and other stuff. I do believe it needs an adaptor for steering wheel controls as it uses CANBUS(?) but it does have the configuration and wires attached.
reefmagnet:- No need for an adapter for your D2 SWC's!
universal head unit, how to connect the steering wheel control wire, single din unit, double din stereo
After you have done that, then you use the "Key 1" and the "Key 2" wires on the main loom to connect to Land Rover ISO connector plug ( CO098) positions
2 and 3.Position 3 should receive (+) connection from the HU. Position 2 is just an (-) earth return according to the RAVE circuit diagram. I have to fit my s/h SWC to the steering wheel yet, so cannot confirm it works yet.
Four Loko:- I think the model number is JY-UQS03N4G-B. Any 7" unit (knob or no knob) should fit.
`Ignore the above wiring recommendation!
Have tested today using my SWC wired remotely.
"Key 1" wire needs to be connected to C0098 position 2. Or, cut and join to the slate(grey) w/black trace wire at the back of the grey ISO plug.
The slate(grey)w/red trace at the back of the same ISO plug needs to go to earth. This wire normally goes to position 3 in C0098.
Mating them up is very easy after they are wired up.
Go to:-
Settings>>
General>>
Steering Wheel Settings(this brings you to settings page)
Then for example if you want to set Vol+ control on SWC...
Hold Vol+ on SWC..text at the bottom of screen should change to yellow colour. You have contact!
Press Vol+ icon on screen..
Press the tick at the bottom of screen (for some reason this takes you back to the previous page)
*Wait until you hear a click/or about 5 secs...and then release your hold on the SWC.*
Keep setting up your SWC as you desire..Too easy!!
WARNING: Do not press the cross(X) at the bottom of the settings screen! This deletes all your settings!
next step
If anyone needs help setting up TPMS that comes with this HU let me know..Oh, you can buy the same off Eboy and add later if you want.
TPMS Android Tyre Pressure Monitoring System Internal Sensors For All Vehicles | eBay
Something like this should work..just plug into a USB port on the back of the HU.Could save you $350 for a tyre..don'"t ask how I know...
Cheers all..
Hey thanks for the input myles. I bolted mine into place today then took it offroad to see if UI could rattle the screen out (and to test my new CDL switch). I'm pleased to report it stayed in place!
