Maybe the replacement receiver is crook.

Hi all, need some help fixing my keyless entry.
The car is a 2003 Discovery 2a.
The car is new to me never has the remote worked.
What I have done so far.
Central locking works, and car can be started with EKA code.
1.Checked battery voltage on car and remote battery.
2. Checked fob at the landrover dealer its producing a 433mhz signal.
3. Changed reciever with one from the Land rover wreckers.
4. Tried to reprogram the key to the BCU can not get it to read the key press.
5. The RF signal test with the nanocom fails does not see the key.
6. Earth is good on the reciever.
Where do I start looking next?
Thanks.
Maybe the replacement receiver is crook.
Regards PhilipA
Look on this link here you might have to upgrade the software for the nanocom to 1.36b also look on the nanocom forums.
Nanocom programmable fobs? Where to source?

I used an rtl-sdr dongle on the computer to verify the frequency of my fobs and to confirm they were transmitting a signal.
It's basically a plug in USB radio receiver.
About RTL-SDR
What is RTL-SDR? RTL-SDR is a very cheap ~$25 USB dongle that can be used as a computer based radio scanner for receiving live radio signals in your area (no internet required). Depending on the particular model it could receive frequencies from 500 kHz up to 1.75 GHz. Most software for the RTL-SDR is also community developed, and provided free of charge.
Fixed, should have followed the kiss principle. Keep ⁴it simple stupid, it ended up being a corroded fuse in the engine bay it's all working now. Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
