    TD5 Flex Plate

    Hi all,

I have just received a recon auto box from ashcroft. They didn't mention anything about replacing the flex plate until I received the box and read their write up. I missed that in my research also, probably should have been more thorough!

I have searched and it seems the genuine flex plates these days are potentially crap. Does anyone sell heavy duty plates in Aus?

    Thanks.

If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

    Another is LRA in Melbourne(Thomastown).
I'm not sure if they have stock .. but this is where I got the one in my D2 (when it was my brothers).
Nothing wrong with the original one in it at the time, but the torque converter needed replacing so made sense to ensure the flex plate didn't subsequently fail while it was an easy job to do.

This may have been about 4 years or so, and as I bought it I remember it costing less than $200, which was on part with the cost of getting an Ashcroft one delivered here.
Torque converter rebuilder was literally around the corner from LRA too .. so easy choice to be made.

IIRC LRA have them made up to their specific needs too .. and not Ashcrofts plates.

All these discos are giving me a heart attack!

LRA are in new premises in CAMPBELLFIELD, Victoria. I bought a flexplate from them earlier this year.

That's them .. I remember the location, but not the name of the business, nor the chap that served me.

ps. it's autoflite, as autoflyte is an American business.
