F.i.L has a D2a and is experiencing the alarm going off at weird and wonderful hours in the middle of the night, from what I can read you can lock with the key instead of the fob to disarm the interior sensors , there is also the possibility of it being a faulty bonnet switch.
So my question is where is the bonnet switch located and how can you deactivate the alarm side of it ?
I’m trying to help him sort it from a distance as the car is along way from me.
Thanks in advance

Bonnet switch is on passenger side along side of the airbox. I doubt it is the issue but you can unplug it. It is more likely that the volumetric sensor in the cabin is being triggered by a moth or wind. When you park and lock the car make sure the windows are up. The volumetric sensor can be disabled if you have access to a Hawkeye or a Nanocom diagnostic tool.
