Ok guys and girls i need some info from those in the know.
Im seriously considering getting a single rear draw for the disco (an xtm slide out kitchen that's an absolute bargain on Facebook) but im concerned about securing it down.
Yes I've googled, yes I've searched the search bar on here, ive only seen solutions for full size draws that can be easily secured via the 4 factory tie down points. What i need to know is how have you secured your single rear drawer to the floor of your d2?
In my previous car (a dual cab ute) this was a simple case of 8 nutserts in the tray and on your way. Im not so sure that will be the case here. Obviously there is a fair bit going on under the floor of the cargo area in these d2's like fuel tanks and whatnot. Ide rather not have to drop the tank but that's why I'm here writing this.
Can anyone chime in on this or offer any useful ideas?

SubscriberI have bolted through a 19mm sheet of ply and through the floor. The bolts are on the outside edges and avoid the fuel tank. Nutserts is a good idea, as I have to go under the car to hold the nut while a 'helper' tightens the bolt. I will put in nutserts!!

I did a similar thing with my ute. I secured a smaller piece of ply down with 8 bolts into nutserts and then secured a fridge slide onto the ply (hole centres didn't line up with the ridges in the tub)Originally Posted by Bohica

I have found nutserts to be useless in vehicles as the panel is generally to thin.
Better with a bolt right through if possible with a nylock nut.
That's what i was expecting with the amount of ally in these cars. That would put the bolts smack bang above the fuel tank though annoyingly.

Supportercan't you just put a small predrilled backing plate under the floor for the nutsert to pull up on and hold in place? Or even a washer ?
If you're going to reach under to play with nuts and bolts easier to have a nutsert permanently there.
Not a bad idea! A little bit of sikaflex to seal it up and hold it in place would mean ide never need someone to help secure the bolt. Might still need to drop the tank though

SupporterAs the D1 did not have floor attachments, a sheet of ply bolted to the floor with the fridge frame bolted to the play worked a treat!! 125 litres of camping joy that was - should be easier on the D2 just using the floor attachments for the 150 litres planned.
