    Why?

    If eliminating the EGR, using this method, why does the cooler need sealing both ends, or even need blanking at all?

    hmmm .... good question.

    Maybe so stuff doesn't get in there, rusting up issues ... who knows.

    Removing it completely is the better way, gives more room to move about in there on subsequent operations.

    Remove the lot. One less possible leak source.
    And avoid the mud wasps of course.

    Apart from it being very low on the list of options for mud wasps, why would plated ends need sealing?

    The end plaes don't need sealing, unless the MOT people ask questions.
    If you do the full delete, replace the short rubber hose that exits from the oil cooler. I did, after the ****er leaked!!
