    If that's the case put a top hat lined 4.6 in it and live with the fuel costs for next decade or so, then start planning for batteries and silence. Easiest and simplest conversion which shouldn't cost anything like 15k and you can do most of work yourself.

    Yep, to the tune of 100mm!

    As Philip mentioned above, the scrub radius is much better, too, so the entire on road experience is much nicer.

    well alot of good info was put forth that helped me from everyone here that commented. so thank you for that.

    "if in doubt, sit it out"

    so for now im going to save the coin and keep my sweet D1. if the price is right and the condition matches what i have, ill opt for the D2 down the track.
    i can agree that it (D2) seems to be the better one of the two, on many factors and meets the requirement im after 'straight out the box'.

    ill keep this here, and look to start a new thread with regards to engine mods for the 3.9, or conversions.
