A few years a go I changed the ignition barrel. All works well, except removing the key it is stiff, like held in by pliers. But! remove the key in another other position the key comes out easily.
Any ideas?

PTFE dry spray.(with an injection tube if available) Get it from a locksmith if possible. the good stuff leaves only teflon dust in your lock. The hardware type stuff often has oil additives etc in it and is to be avoided. Squirt it into the lock and while the solvent is still present, work the key in and out many times.
Don.
I read some time ago that brake clean is ok for locks as it cleans them and dries, leaving no residue to attract dust.
I have used it on my ignition lock without any problems.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

Yeah I know it's one of the great sins but about 5 years ago I bought a can of Aldi lock spray.
All I'll say is that the 49 year old upper tailgate lock on my POS is almost like new now and I used it on an expensive keyed lock barrel, from one of the gates to a very expensive seaside beach house where every lock is keyed alike.
Was obviously seized due to salt and dust. Sprayed it, wiggled the key, sprayed it again wiggled the key while tapping the barrel..........hey presto. That was 2 years ago and it's still fine.
I suspect it is some sort of silicon spray and I use it on other stuff with great success.
