The V8 does sound good, but it's thirsty.

They slip liners but there are meant to be a couple of fixes for that if you spend the $$.

All running gear and general vehicle stuff is pretty similar or the same between the V8 and TD5.

The auto is slightly better in the V8 I believe, and usually last a bit longer.

TD5 is pretty slow stock but can be tuned, V8 can't really be helped much, but does go better than a stock TD5.

TD5 is good on fuel and it's pretty reliable.

Biggest issues would be head /head gaskets, leaky fuel pressure regulator and loose oil pump bolt, if you search for those problems on here you'll get plenty of info.

There are quite a few around so I believe it is a buyers market. I would have looked at a dozen before i got mine.

When you mean slip liners, do you mean the hood lining?

I'll check out the other things you mentioned, re heads/oil pump bolt

yeha there seems to be allot with low Ks at the moment, how have you found spare sparts in AU?

Have a few " spare parts" in stock 😊 but have not found any major issues getting most things.
