Can't comment on the LOF spigot bush, but I had the LOF Extreme clutch fitted a couple of years ago and my mechanic decided do go with the standard LR spigot bush (soaked in oil). I haven't had any issues (or unexpected noises) in about 50000km.
After 250,000 kms, looking at changing the clutch on my 2004 discovery 2 TD5 with a LOF H/Duty clutch kit with new DMF. I have the usual spigot bearing squeal on cold morning starts so definitely changing the spigot bush while there. As the spigot bush is sintered bronze, typically I would soak it in warn oil for a few days before fitting. However, reading the LOF Changing a TD5 Clutch on a Discovery/ Defender tips & tricks page, Luke advises against this and recommends to clean and Loctite the spigot bush in then wipe a smear of grease on the inside of the bush.
Removing a dry fit spigot bush is hard enough as it is (if you don’t have the proper slide hammer thingy - yes I know the grease/bread/socket trick but didn’t work for me last time) so I am a little concerned that if I ever have to replace the Loctite spigot bush in the future, it will be a right PITA. As to lubrication, I assume the grease will heat up and soak into the sintered bronze on engine warm-up but would it be enough for the life of the bearing/clutch given the tiny amount with a close fitting spigot?
I am interested to know what others are doing or what is current best practice. I have checked TGO and up to 2017, it seems oil/sans Loctite was still the go. Thanks.

Personally, I have never had an issue with the soaking in oil method since fitting clutches to classic Rangies in the mid 80's as an apprentice and while the metallurgy may be slightly different since then...
I'm thinking, if it isn't broke...
Definitely worth fitting one of their powerslaves while you're at it though.
Is it the spigot or thrust bearing squealing?

*I've NEVER used loctite on a TD5 spigot bush, nor would I recommend it.
*I made a tool up many years ago on a slide hammer, but i guess other methods may work to remove it.
*I've just greased it up or copper coat, plenty of it and that $2.00 spigot bush has never given any problems.
*Yes the age old TD5 in reverse when cold, clutch half out, its the spigot bush.
*it chatters because although the gearbox main shaft and the engine (the spigot bush) are turning in the same direction, they are turning at a different speed.
