    TD5 power issue

Gday all. i just wanted to come on here for some advice on what’s wrong with my disco. the parts that it already has on it are a stage 1 remap, an allisport intercooler, egr delete, cat delete. the issue i have with it is when i drive it it losses most of its power after it reaches 2.5k-3k revs and then still revs out to limiter but doesn’t have the power behind it. i thought it was a bad fuel pump so i got a hold of a mates and put it in to test it and not fix. after replacing fuel filter and checking for over boosting it randomly wouldn’t start back up so i had to turn it over for at least 10-15 seconds to get it to start. also when driving in the road when giving it any slight acceleration or hill it’s like the motors fuel randomly cuts out then comes back causing a jult of the car. i was maybe it’s a crank angle sensor issue. also plugged nanocom in after a drive and comes back with faults driver demand 1 and over boosting

if it's overboosting is the WG stuck closed or only partially opening?
    Can you log the boost?
I'd be checking the MAF readings, too, especially if it's a late 02 on'. If the MAF is reading low fuel is reduced significantly, resulting in a lack of performance and surging in the rev range you describe.

I solved a power deficit by digging out the new, spare, silicon intercooler hoses and placing them on the radiator support panel, to identify which went where. I have four hoses, but can only locate three on the induction, therefore put the new hoses away. The car has performed brilliantly since. Should I again experience a power degradation, I shall lay the spare hoses out, for half an hour, again.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

That's an ACE vs non ACE thing.

You must have scared it straight when you confronted it with the wrong parts.

(The 4 hose kit can be used on a non ACE vehicle from memory, you just don't use 1 of the hoses)

And to the OP, if you can post a log that would be really helpful...

Yes, a log would be helpful, but if you can't, then try bypassing the boost modulator ( the part bolted to the A/C compressor).
Go from the Turbo to intercooler pipe take off directly to the wastegate with some 4mm vacuum hose and see if it fixes the overboost fault.

About 8 out of 10 times this or the vacuum hoses are the problem.

It will feel a bit doughy until you reinstate a working modulator / Hoses etc

    update!

hi so i backed of the the waste gate thred right off and it’s fixed the proformance issue but still hasn’t fixed the surging issue and also hard to start up once cold. any solution would be greatly appreciated. also might add that i did have a perfectly working boost gauge and then just randomly stopped working after other symptoms showed
