But if you look it up you get many pics of a BTR 90
Does anyone know how to remove the vent in the top of the dash, the one that is for ventilation for the radio.
I suspect that it probably pulls out, but don't want to break it trying if it is bolted in.
Dave.
I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.

The Breather/Vent is only retained by 8(I think) metal clips so should be able to pull it straight out, although the clips may break off from where they're attached due to the age of the plastic. I've left mine out until I can find an alternative method of retaining it, due to fitting a dash mat 18 months ago
Cheers Bruce
I would say that they just lift out, but perhaps mine ha suffered the fate mentioned by monty.

My reason for wanting to remove it was to have a look to see if it was possible to get a wire up through this gap to power a tyre pressure monitor.
I don't want to try removing it and breaking things if this can't be done.
Is it possible/easy to get a wire to this spot?
Dave.

Dave, I ran power (and earth) from the fuse box to the top of the dash. From memory I tucked the cabling between the A pillar and dash, then across the base of the screen. I have a dash mat, so it all stays hidden. When I get home, I'll take some pictures and text them to you.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
And this is how I dit this on the V8.
Theres a hole somehwere near/above the fusebox on the end of the dash so You can pull the wires there in between the body and dash (no need to pull down to footwell from inside the dash and route around the end of the dash) and up on top of the dash.
The vents have clips both sides as in the pic, i inserted two metal crack filler tools at the same time right and left then pulled the vent out, might work with credit cards too but those are a bit thicker so it could be tight, as long as all the clips are pushed in it should slide out without big effort
D2 dash air vent.jpg
two of these which would fit and are wide enough to cover both clips
