Turbo Oil Drain For Land Rover Discovery 2 Td5 1998-2004 PNH101840 - PIONEER 4X4

What is it about Land Rover and appearing to deliberately make life more difficult.
The recently fitted new turbo drain pipe fouls attempting to remove the oil filter and actually travels/traverses across immediately below the bottom of the filter.
Is there an alternate version drain pipe that works its way around the filter without causing obstructions?
Surely I'm not the only one who has acquired this problem?

is that a standard turbo? as i have to remove my alive gtb550 vnt turbo to change the oil filter
I just went through the ordeal of fitting the oil filter relocation kit, removing it, binning it, and getting a better setup for ease of install/access.
I thought about rejigging the drain line instead, but it's still a totally stupid location for a filter anyhow, and now on the firewall is trivial to change.
I've seen that kind of drain alternative a few months back and had in mind to potentially do this(I had to do the exh manifold, so easier to get in there whilst everything was outta the way).
I reckon you could get commonly available parts from hot rodders stores and make you're own for far less than close to $300.
I have a spare turbo sitting in the shed, if I had time too, I'd chase up what parts are needed to do your own alternative line.

As an example, no definitive knowledge on what exact sizes and parts required .. oil drain to AN(whether you want -08 or -10 ... again dunno!) type fittings can be had for approx $30.
OIL DRAIN FITTING
Would be easier to fit this to the turbo whilst it's off, and it stays on once fitted. Fitting then comes from the oil drain attachment to a hose to another fitting at the block.
Fittings are about $20-ish, hose you'd need maybe 100mm of, VPW sells only 1m lots, but inconsequential cost ... I reckon for about $100 you could make your own and I still think easier to both fit and remove too, and routed as you want it to be.
I have the parts to go to VPW and get them to 'size them up' .. I just don't have a lot of time at the moment to do so.
Also, I reckon if the drain could be routed behind the filter, would make filter access much easier by a huge margin too, but I can't remember if there is enough room behind filter to allow a 5/8(16mm) hose behind it tho.
I reckon I might have some time next thu and friday(days off) and I could check what might be needed, unless someone has already done something similar already.
