Howdy folksI know a lot of you here know my story and that of my cars unique features, but thought making a thread showing it in all its glory, could be both Educational and interesting. So much of the world doesn't understand disability and driving. Lord knows I get a lot of abuse parking my landie in disability parks as folks think that we only drive vans, or can only be driven in vans
or not drive at all, god forbid we reverse
gosh I've had it all.
I've had this car 11 years in January. Its been a wild ride and I was not going to give it up due to disability. I am a full time wheelchair user. (You'll never hear me say "wheelchair bound" I hate that term and wish media would stop using it. We are wheelchair freed, they are chariots of freedom and a positive thing in life)
Its amazing the assistive technology available to allow those to drive through so many different disabilities. But this is what's in this humble Landrover.
(Will be video links here to show them)
The old girl has, an electric tailgateeasily the best feature.
Fadiel E-Radial hand controls which can also be found in Ferrari (yes there are wheelchair folks driving supercars- any car can be a disability car)
Bruno Curbsider Hoist. The Braun of this operation that lifts the heffalump that is Franklin, my off road powerchair
This I took yesterday from within the car on how the powerchair is unloaded

It is a process to drive with these things. There's assessments to find the right driving aids, driving lessons with them, test to pass to then be set free on the world with them.
If you have read through and even watched some of my videos, ThankyouMy beloved Disco is very unique and currently only car I can physically and legally drive in my world

A great photo with the wheel lift. I admire your resilience and perseverance.

Thankyouthat wheel lift is my favourite photo of my car. It was taken at Loveday, last January. I'd only had my licence back for 1 month with the hand controls and went camping and 4x4ing with a group of wonderful ladies.
It was amazing to actually enjoy my car and do those things
By the looks of the lifted wheel photo, it seems you need one of these (if you haven't seen it already)! Zac designed it for his then girlfriend Cambry, and they have quite a few videos out there of the development from the prototype onwards. The only problem is the damn price! Fundraiser anyone...

Surely there is some Insta or TikTok savvy user known to some one who could set up a Go Fund Me or similar. $US8K is close to AU$12,500, plus shipping.

If it came to it, the two battery option is definitely the one to go for. Also, I seem to recall off one of their early videos that they were thinking about selling plans to build your own Rig with locally sourced parts. Haven't been on thier page for a while so don't know if that ever came to fruition.

I love that not a wheelchair thing. Have followed them for a long time, from when he was even first with his lady. It's a crazy machine. Definitely would be battery one is best as it's hard going on bodies using arms to get about so need as much power as possible.*🦽
