nanocom wont conect to d2 v8

I am having trouble getting my nanocom to conect to a v8 discovery ,I have no trouble with my TD5 and have the V8 unlocked . The owner also tried at a local service center and they told him that they can conect to discoverys with their equipment but had the same problem that it would not conect ,any ideas ?

When you say connect, what do you mean? Does it say "unable to start communication with ECU"? Or, does it not power up?

That can be tricky.. I have found perseverance can work, also various key positions. But, I've had to do a little "adjustment" to the pins on the port on the car to get mine to power up, so might be worth a look I guess. But someone like sierrafery will know more than me.

    Same as Tins here too.
I've had similar issues on the TD5, where it randomly just doesn't connect, but then suddenly it does. No obvious reasons why.

When my V8 was going, I had no issues connecting to it tho. V8 no longer running so can't confirm.

One thing to try is, turn on nanocom first and get into instruments mode. Hopefully it works in this mode to begin with. instruments mode should work no matter if ign or engine running is on, it just shows minimal values.

Then if you get it showing at least coolant temp in instrument mode, which it should show some value, then try getting the nanocom into other areas to see if you still have same issue.

ps. I'm driving the TD5 more regularly at the moment, and have the nanocom as a instrument display. It's connected 100% of the time. I just long press the display(about 1-2sec) and it starts up before I start the D2.
Only in this manner have I had 100% connectivity from nanocom to D2(TD5).

That's a good tip. I'll try that tomorrow. The one that I usually have trouble with is SLABS. Does doing this affect powering off, or do you do that manually as well?

If you can communicate with the BCU and other ECUs the problem is most probably with the V8 ECU, if no comms with any ECU/BCU then it becomes more complicated and i'll tell you more if that's the case

Hmm. Mine doesn't. Looks like I need to do more investigating of the port on the car.

I can't access my RAVE cd atm. Would you happen to know where the OBD port daws power from?
